Mary Kate Serratelli, Partner

Mary Kate Serratelli focuses her practice in local government, employment matters, public contracting law, and litigation matters involving public entity clients.

Since 2015, Mary Kate served as assistant general counsel to the Bergen County Improvement Authority (BCIA). In that capacity, Mary Kate played an integral role in the transition of New Jersey’s largest hospital, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, including the procurement of a new hospital operator, negotiation of the lease, as well as various transactions and regulatory approvals to effectuate the transition. Mary Kate also does labor counsel work for various public clients, and handles contract negotiations, disciplinary matters, and conducts EEO investigations into workplace harassment and discrimination. Mary Kate also represents various governmental entity clients in connection with internal governance, compliance, and litigation matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Mary Kate served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Kathleen M. Delaney, J.S.C. , in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Camden Vicinage. During law school, Mary Kate represented Duquesne on its National Trial Team, finishing as a National Semi-Finalist at the prestigious Tournament of Champions trial competition. At graduation, Mary Kate was inducted as a member of the Louis L. Manderino Honor Society, for excellence in courtroom advocacy.

While completing her undergraduate degree at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, Mary Kate was a four-year letter winner and Senior Captain of the Women’s Basketball team.
